circular screen, 16-channel speakers, infrared cameras, custom software

24 ft, 12 ft diameter

Created through Gray Area Art and Technology, ZHdK: Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology, and Swissnex San Francisco in December 2015

Point Line is an immersive circular installation integrating real-time audio and video synthesis with touch screen interaction and 16 channel surround audio. Like the warp and weft of a loom, each touch point plays a line in rapid flowing succession, generating drones. Horizontal and vertical gestures play as frequency, pitch, and texture. It was inspired by the idea of playing sound through generative lines on the screen through lines, similar to a handloom.
